Poseidon was one of the Olympians in ancient Greek religion and myth. His Roman equivalent is Neptune. He was protector of seafarers, and of many Hellenic cities and colonies. Poseidon supports the Greeks against the Trojans during the Trojan War and in the Odyssey, during the sea-voyage from Troy back home to Ithaca, the Greek hero Odysseus provokes Poseidon's fury by blinding his son, the Cyclops Polyphemus, resulting in Poseidon punishing him with storms, the complete loss of his ship and companions, and a ten-year delay. Poseidon is also the subject of a Homeric hymn. The island of Atlantis was Poseidon's domain.

Appearance[]

Poseidon is a very large Merman with a with a hefty body, teal skin, blue fins in place of hair, a white drooping mustache and beard resembling fins, and green eyes. He wears only a dark blue chiton.

Abilities[]

  • Olympic Nature: Like the other Olympians, Poseidon possesses natural powers and abilities such as immortality, omnipresence, omniscience, superhuman strength, metamorphosis, and teleportation.
  • Aquatic Communication: Poseidon possesses the abilities to breathe underwater, to communicate with sea creatures, and to control the sea with his Trident. Being the Lord of the Sea, Poseidon has authority over it and its creatures.
